Major Fairs of Uttarakhand Notes Praveen
1- Nanda Devimela – It is celebrated in the state from the fifth day of Bhadrapad Shukla Paksha. The fair of Nainadevi is organized in Nainital on Cancer and Makar Sankranti.
2- Shravani Mela - The fair, which runs every year till the month of Shravan in Jageshwar Dham of Almora, women worship this by holding a lamp of ghee throughout the night to get a child.
3- Somnath Fair - Situated on the banks of Ramganga near Ranikhet of Almora, Pali- Somnath fair starts from the last Sunday of Vaishakh month in Pachhaun area Masi.
4- Gananath Fair - Every year in Gananath in Almora district, Gananath fair fair is organized on Kartik Purnima.
5- Syalde – Bikhauti Fair – Every year Bikhauti fair is held in Dwarhat Almora on the first day of Vaishakh month and Syalde fair is held on the first night.
6- Shri Poornagiri Fair – A fair is held in the Shri Purnagiri temple located on the Annapurna peak near Tanakpur of Champawat in the Navratras of Chetra and Ashwin. Shri Poornagiri Devi Bhagwati is believed in 108 Siddhi Peethas
7- Bagwal Fair – In Champawat's Mother Varahidevi (Devidura) on Rakshabandhan, Shravani Poornima is celebrated as Bagwal fair.
8- Ladi Dhura Fair – It is held in the Devi temple of Pamda in Barakot of Champawat, the fair is organized on the day of Kartik Poornima.
9- Maneshwar Fair - This fair is organized near Mayadevi in Champawat near the miraculous Sheela named Maneshwar. This stone is worshiped for the health of the milch animal.
10- Thal Fair - This fair is organized on Baisakhi in the Thal temple in Baleshwar of Pithorgarh.
11- Jaul-Jivi Fair – This fair is organized every year in the month of Kartik at the confluence of Jauljeevi Kali and Gori river of Pithoragarh, this fair was started on Margshish Sankranti in 1914.
12 - Chaiti or Balasundari Fair - Chaiti fair is organized in the temple of Kundeshwari Devi located near Kashipur of Udham Singh Nagar, which lasts for 10 days.
13- Magh Fair – Magh fair is held in Uttarkashi city, in this the villagers bring the doli here.
14- Bissu Fair - This fair is held in the village of Uttarkashi.
15- Gindimela – This fair is held at the temple of Bhatpudi Devi on the occasion of Makar Sankranti in Dadamandi of Pauri Garhwal.
16- Baikunth Chaturdashi Fair – This fair is held on Baikunth Chaturdashi in Kamleshwar Temple, Srinagar, Pauri. In the Kamleshwar temple, husband and wife hold a lamp of ghee in their hands throughout the night and worship to get children.
17- Dangal Fair – This fair is held in the Shiva temple of Dangal near Satpuli of Pauri, this temple is one of the famous four Shaktipeeths of Garhwal.
18- Ranbhut Kauthik - This fair is held in the month of Kartik in the village of Nailchami Patti, Tehri, in the form of a ghost dance in the memory of the people who died in various wars during the time of the monarchy.
19- Vikas Mela – Vikas Mela is organized in Tehri, it is also known as Vikas Exhibition.
20- Hariyali Pura Fair - Hariyali Pura Fair is held on the first day of Chaitra month in Noti village of Chamoli Karnprayag.
21 Gochar Mela - The industrial and development fair in Chamoli district's historical and cultural center Gochar was started in 1943 by the then Deputy Commissioner of Garhwal Bernedi, it was started on the birthday of Pandit Jawahar Lal Naharu.
22- Nunai Fair – This fair is held in the month of Shravan of Chakrata Chetra, Jonsar of Dehradun, it is also known by the name of those who keep sheep and goats. And by taking these names, they graze their sheep
23- Tapkeshwar Fair – The belief of Lord Shiva temple situated in a cave on the banks of Devdhara river of Dehradun is far and wide, in this cave the water drops on the Shivling itself keep falling.
24- Bhadraraj Devta's Fair - This fair is held on a hill 15 km from Mussoorie in Dehradun, Bhadraraj is an ancient temple where devotees offer milk.
25- Jhanda Fair – This fair starts every year in Dehradun on Chaitra Krishna Panchami, the birthday of Guru Ram Rai. On this day in 1676, a big festival was celebrated in his honor ... From that day Guru Ram Rai of Punjab A large group of devotees come on foot till Dehradun... This devotee group is called Sangat.
26- Kumbh Mela – This fair is held in Haridwar on the banks of the Ganges every 12 years when Guru is situated in Aquarius and Sun is on Aries, Ardh Kumbh is held every 6 years.,,,,

27- Urs Mela of Pinar Kaliyar Baba – It is organized in Kaliyar village between Haridwar and Roorkee in the month of August.
28- Uttarayani Fair – On the occasion of Makar Sankranti, Uttarayani fair is held on many river ghats and temples of Kumaon-Garhwal region.
